MEET DR. ROBERTO GARCIA

Roberto E. Garcia, M.D., F.A.C.S. is the founder and principal of Contoura Facial Plastic Surgery, the premier center for facial plastic and reconstructive surgery in Northeast Florida, serving Ponte Vedra Beach, Jacksonville, and St. Augustine.

As the developer of the Contoura procedure, Dr. Garcia is a leader of the aesthetics industry, providing his patients with the latest innovations in surgical and nonsurgical anti-aging procedures. Dr. Garcia has performed over 15,000 facial surgeries, published nine scientific articles, and written five books. His book, The Art of Facial Aesthetics, is widely recognized as an excellent resource for patients considering facial plastic procedures. Dr. Garcia is double board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Garcia is married with three children and enjoys the beach life and spending time with his family.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Dr. Garcia is a Cum Laude graduate of Jacksonville University. During his studies, he authored several articles on the neurobiological treatment for Alzheimer’s disease. He attended medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin (formerly Marquette University), where he developed an early interest in surgery of the face, head, and neck. After completing an internship in General Surgery at SUNY Health Sciences Center in Syracuse, NY, Dr. Garcia completed a four-year residency in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery.

During this time, Dr. Garcia was involved in developing techniques for the management of facial trauma. He conducted several scientific projects and published a number of scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Garcia completed a highly competitive and specialized training in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the renowned McCollough Institute for Appearance and Health in Alabama. During his fellowship, Dr. Garcia specialized in cosmetic surgery of the aging face and neck, as well as cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the nose. Throughout his training, Dr. Garcia authored and presented studies on treatments for aging lower eyelids and the management of facial fractures.

Dr. Garcia is first and foremost an educator, having developed and trained dozens of other physicians in his groundbreaking procedures aimed at reversing the signs of aging.

As a renowned Jacksonville, FL plastic surgeon, Dr. Garcia was recently afforded the opportunity to become the first physician in Northeast Florida to introduce Kybella, the only nonsurgical injection that reduces fatty tissue in the neck. To date, Dr. Garcia has trained over 40 local physicians in the performance procedure. Dr. Garcia specializes in the Contoura lift, fat transfer, facelift, minilift, upper and lower blepharoplasty, and rhinoplasty.
