Microneedling does exactly what its name states. It uses tiny needles. But what do those tiny needles do exactly? They help encourage the growth of collagen in your skin. By using a handheld device, microneedling will make tiny punctures in your skin which will signal your skin to create newer, collagen-filled in its place.
To start out, we will numb your skin with a topical numbing cream. After that, we will slowly roll the microneedling device across your skin. If you start to feel any pain or discomfort during the procedure, we can apply some more numbing cream over the top. Additionally, we may encourage you to take some over-the-counter pain pills like Ibuprofen to help curb the pain.
The good news about microneedling is that recovery isn't very extensive. Typically, patients experience some redness right afterward by that should subside after just 24 hours.
Typically, after one session, patients with rosacea will notice a slight difference in their skin tone. However, after several sessions is when patients will notice the real results. Depending on how your skin responds to microneedling will determine how many sessions you will need.
