Botox and Fillers - Contoura Facial Plastic Surgery - Nurse Practitioner Brookes Pittman

Hi. My name is Brooks Pittman. I'm the Nurse Practitioner here at Contoura Facial Plastics. I want to take a few minutes to tell you today about Botox and fillers, which is my primary responsibility at the practice. We get a lot of questions about the difference between Botox and fillers and what you might need, and all of that can be part of the consultation when you come to see us, but just so you know a little bit more, Botox is a treatment we perform to relax muscles that might cause some fine lines and wrinkles and so pulling down, so we can give lift in the face and just a more refreshed look by just a simple procedure that takes about 15 to 20 minutes with very little downtime.

Fillers we use in a little bit of a different area. We also use it in the face and it's also used to reverse some of the signs of aging. As we age we lost lot of volume in our face. So we use fillers to replace that volume to aesthetically make you look a little bit younger, a little bit more refreshed. Lots of different areas we can use it like the cheeks, under the eyes, lips are a really popular area that we use fillers for, and some of the creases in the nose and the marionette lines. Both are very easy procedures. We use a lot of numbing so it's pretty comfortable. A small amount of bruising can put you in a little bit of down time, but we're talking a couple days. You can even go to work right after the procedure.
