Hey everybody, it's from Contura. I want to take a few minutes and talk to you about a procedure that I do very commonly in my practice and that is a thread lift. A thread lift is a great procedure to address the gravitational component of aging. So if you've ever had a consult with me, I've discussed with you the three components of aging, which is volume, lost skin, and gravity. And a thread lift is a great procedure to address that early aging signs that's caused by gravity.

Some things you might be seeing on a face are a jowl or a descent in your mid cheek. People often complain about heaviness in their lower face. And when I'm looking at them, a lot of times, yes, maybe volume needs to be added and likely does, but oftentimes gravity needs ton be addressed as well. So a thread lift is a simple procedure. I put threads somewhere through the midface mostly. I also use in the neck and the brow, depending on what area of the face is bothering the specific patient. I put some in, I pull back and you get an immediate pull in that mid phase, brow, neck, whatever, trying to address.

We get a nice lift in the area. Over the next several months, collagen is produced and it gets us a scaffolding that holds that lift for longer. It lasts about 12 months and does a great job on those early signs of aging. Collagen production is decreased as we age, so that is also a great way to get good skin quality under where the threads replaced. So we're really addressing two parts of the aging process with one procedure. So I really lean on that as one of the first things I do for a patient, if they're having complaints about the lower face or any kind of jowling.

So pretty simple in office procedure, not very painful. I do numb the area very well and downtime can be minimal. Bruising, usually near the hair line, if it happens at all. And most patients are up and running within the next day or two days later. So if you have any questions about with procedure, if you think this might be a good fit for you, feel free to give me a call. I would be happy to consult with you and discuss if this would be a great option for you.
